I not an 'over the top' fan of oatmeal but I eat them once in while although, I am a killer for oatmeal cookies especially with choco chips!
I have been buying this kind of cookie from Quaker to Lord Stow's to any brand you can think of. I have also browsed the internet on recipes of it but never tried to make one until last week. Yes, I finally got the courage to bake this goodie and it is was I will share with you in this entry.
Two recipes caught my attention and decided to combine them. One from All Recipes used brown sugar and white sugar while the other one used molasses (unfortunately, I can't find the internet recipe with molasses). I like the color that molasses can give the cookies not to mention a healthier way to sweeten it.
Oatmeal Choco Chip Cookies
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar until smooth.
Beat in egg then stir in vanilla and molasses.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended. Mix in the quick oats and chocolate chips. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven.
Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Yielded 18 cookies
These cookies were amazing! It's chewy and is not too sweet...I will definitely make more of these, every week maybe? LOL!

Feeling ko tataba ung mga cookies kapag ganun. anyways, thanks for this recipe!
ReplyDeleteHi Ashley!
Deletehmmm, yes but it won't look like cookies anymore though the taste will be the same. just ensure not to fill the muffin pan much so as not to have very think "cookies"
