"Start With..." Series Kick Off - Sweetened Cream

New year is here and I am excited! Why? Because you and I will be on an adventure.  I decided to level up My Twisted Recipes and feature different food "series" for the whole year of 2012.

First of this series is what I call the "Start With..." series.  Start With... series will feature recipes that will cut our cooking or preparation time in half and may be used to make several different dishes.  These are the likes of broths, sauces, dips and base pastries/cakes, etc.

As an initial entry to this series, I would like to share with you my base recipe for floats, salads and desserts - I call this Sweetened Cream.  Make this ahead of time and you can create desserts in a jiffy any time!

Sweetened Cream

Ingredients:
250mL all purpose cream
150mL condense milk

Method:
Mix the two ingredients together using a whisk.  Transfer in an airtight container.

shelf life: 1 week (refrigerated)

One easy dessert you cam make is the popular Peach Float.

To create this dessert, layer a container with graham crackers (crushed or whole), chilled sweetened cream, sliced/cubed peaches. Repeat until container is 3/4 full. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

You can mix and match whatever fruit you desire and create a different float anytime!

New year, new approach, new adventure!
